To be a friend means to offer happiness. If love doesn’t offer happiness, if it makes the other person cry all the time, then it’s not love; it’s the opposite.
When you walk, arrive with every step. That is walking meditation. There’s nothing else to it.
We have to look deeply to see how we grow our food, so we can eat in ways that preserve our collective well-being, minimize our suffering and the suffering of other species, and allow the earth to continue to be a source of life for all of us. If, while we eat, we destroy living beings or the environment, we are eating the flesh of our own sons and daughters. We need to look deeply together and discuss how to eat, what to eat, and what to resist.
When mindfulness is present, the Buddha and the Holy Spirit are already there,
Enlightenment is always there. Small enlightenment will bring great enlightenment. If you breathe in and are aware that you are alive-that you can touch the miracle of being alive-then that is a kind of enlightenment
Earth will be safe when we feel in us enough safety.
While practicing mindfulness, don’t be dominated by the distinction between good and evil, thus creating a battle within oneself.
MEDITATION is not to get out of society, to escape from society, but to prepare for a reentry into society
You don’t have to die to enter nirvana or the Kindgom of God. You only have to dwell deeply in the present moment, right now.
