When God blesses you, the highest form of gratitude is open-handedness.
Helping people and putting smiles on their faces is a great, great thing. God only knows why more people don’t do it more often.
Among the rich you will never find a really generous man even by accident. They may give their money away, but they will never give themselves away; they are egotistic, secretive, dry as old bones. To be smart enough to get all that money you must be dull enough to want it.

Rest in the knowledge that God is both abundantly gracious and ridiculously generous.
I say, ‘We believe in a Christ’. If that being existed physically or not, it’s still important, because the message was so basic and sensible and powerful, that we should live by those truths. Love, compassion, generosity. God doesn’t punish anyone. Churches aren’t needed. Money in connection to belief is an abomination. They say, ‘Oh…’. Then they quote the Old Testament.
Generosity is the rarest of qualities in American writers.
THE NAKED HEART
From womb to tomb,
There came and went –
Poor or rich,
You will die with
All the wealth you harvest
In the living,
Will go to others when you are dead.
But the true test of a lion of God –
Is to keep giving with your own hands,
Before you rest in your final bed.
It wasn’t that he was specially ungenerous but that he put things off to give his generosity a longer and more significant route.
