Destiny gets compressed, you know, into just that small fraction of a second you have right in front of you at any one time. And there’s nothing romantic about keeping your head down to avoid getting shot, or trying to save a friend who’s been injured, or coming face to face with a creature who is as smart and mean and as terrified of dying as you are, and who wants to make sure that if someone is left on the ground there, it’s you and not it.

There is the title of one book In Underground One Can Meet Only Rats. And I’d re-phrase, In Cosmos One Can Meet Only Mutants, besides, rats are mutants too there, in cosmos, therefore, I’d rather walk on the ground.

The day she realised, it was not about the world but was all about her, she grew the wings. The day she understood she was not answerable to any of them who always blamed and pointed her, she had the fire blazing in her eyes. She raised and soared towards the sky. The whole world looked at her in awe and wished if only they could be her. She was not confined to be on the ground anymore. She had the wings of fire and she left a trail everywhere she went, for other to follow.

Yesterday, she shed tears, keeping her head on my shoulders. And I think she’s not going to be fine because I know she won’t. Because a couple of years back, I wasn’t.
And when you know that you’ve fallen hard on a cold ground and are still lying there, what do you tell others who are taking the fall?
You close your eyes. You accept to lie there a little longer.

But I lie on my bed now, and it’s a little too warm today.
